Drinking white tea not only promotes healthy teeth and gums, but also radiant skin. Many factors can affect the skin's appearance, such as too much sun exposure, diet and stress. These factors can damage the skin and cause it to prematurely age. Through the consumption of white tea, you can protect your skin and help reverse some of the existing damage, leaving you with a healthier complexion.

Stephen Hsu, an expert on tea-related health issues and cell biologist at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta published his own study, in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, revealing that other chemicals found in tea are able to reactivate dying skin cells. "If we can energize dying skin cells, we can probably improve the skin condition," he said.

The finding could one day possibly be applied not only to anti-aging remedies but also to healing wounds and the treatment of skin conditions, said Hsu.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized strawberries
  • 1/2 cup of oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons of rice flour
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons of Koni Radiant Beauty

    Directions:

    1. Wash strawberries and remove the stems.
    2. In a food processor, all the ingredients except for the sugar. Mix until pureed. Place in a glass mixing bowl and stir in the sugar until it is completely dissolved.
    3. Apply a small amount to your face and with circular motions, work the product into your skin. Repeat until you face is covered. The product may be left on your skin as a 10 minute mask or removed immediately. You can keep this in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to 4 days.

An important tip: Because this homemade treatment does not contain preservatives like its store-bought counterparts do, you will want to make it fresh before each use.

  • The Tea Chick Says: June 14th, 2009, 7:15pm Yes that is very true! Slimming teas may help increase digestion and help detox you body too. KONI Simply Slim for example increases digestion from the ginger and increases fat metabolism from the Oolong tea. All of this may help flush out toxins. This in turn promotes better health and better skin.
