3 Day Detox: Day 1

This is a gentle detox. You will want to pick up an Koni Detox Set to begin this cleanse. If you can, reduce your intake of sugar and artificial sweeteners, white flour, dairy, alcohol, salt and caffeine while increasing your intake of fruits and veggies a week before this cleanse. Upon waking: 1-2 cups of Koni Holy Detox with a squeeze of lemon. Holy detox is made of tulsi basil which is known for its ability to cleanse the physiology of environmental toxins.

Breakfast: Koni Slim it Sencha Smoothie. 1 cup of blueberries, 1 cup of diced papaya or pineapple, 1 cup of rice/almond/soy milk, 2 Tablespoons of flax seed powder, 1 banana, 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar, a pinch of cayenne pepper, 1 cup of cold Slim it Sencha tea, 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar. Place all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth!

  • Prunes, pineapple, papaya and pomegranate are other fruits that aid digestion and cleansing. Proper digestion is crucial for health. When digestion is efficient and complete, all of the food you eat is either converted into nutrient fluids for absorption into the body, or flushed out as wastes. When the digestive process is incomplete or inefficient, partially digested food matter is left behind in the digestive system.

    Snack: 1 cooked apple - a great way to get elimination going in the morning. Peel and core the apple into cubes. Place in a pot with 1/4 cup of brewed Koni Kapha tea and cook, covered for 5-8 minutes. Serve warm. Enjoy with 2 cups of water with lemon or 2 cups of Koni Kapha.

    Lunch: 1/2 cup of brown rice, 2 cups of sauted spinach - saute 2 cups of fresh spinach 3 cloves of minced garlic, a pinch of turmeric or dried ginger, and 1/4 cup of vegetable stock in a saucepan.Enjoy this with 2 cups of Koni Geisha Green green tea.

  • The World's Healthiest Foods website says that spinach helps in detoxifying the body and cleansing the colon. Spinach and turnip greens retain a variety of vitamins and minerals, such as soluble and insoluble fiber, vitamin A and K, folic acid and iron, according to the Center for Young Women's Health. It is also effective in restoring magnesium levels for a properly running digestive system. According to the Colon Cleanse website, spinach helps release constipation and encourages healthy and regular bowel movements for toxin release in the colon. Additionally, spinach contains phytonutrient flavonoids, which are antioxidants that safeguard the body, including clearing the colon of cancer-causing contaminants.

  • Cook with digestion-enhancing, detoxifying spices such as turmeric, cumin, coriander, clove, ajwain, fenugreek, dried ginger, Chinese cinnamon and fennel.

    Snack: Carrot sticks and cucumber sticks with 2 tablespoons of hummus. A handful of a soy nut blend with almonds. Drink 2 cups of Koni Holy Detox.

    Dinner: 1 cup of steamed veggies with basmati or brown rice. Drink with 2 cups of Koni Kapha or Koni Throat Revival Tea. The fennel in Koni Throat Revival helps to detoxify the liver.

    Detoxifying the liver can help promote weight loss because one of the liver's main functions is to break down fats and eliminate excess fats in the bile through the small intestine. When the liver is overloaded, as can happen when we are exposed to too much toxicity in our diets, this function can be impaired. With help to do its job better, the liver becomes more efficient at breaking down fats again, and we lose excess fat.
