3 Day Detox: Day 2

Day 2: This is a gentle detox. You will want to pick up an KONI Detox set to begin this cleanse. If you can, reduce your intake of sugar and artificial sweeteners, white flour, dairy, alcohol, salt and caffeine while increasing your intake of fruits and veggies a week before this cleanse. If you want to do a more intensive detox, please check out my 10 day cleanse without food.

Upon waking: 1-2 cups of Koni Holy Detox with a squeeze of lemon. Holy detox is made of tulsi basil which is known for its ability to cleanse the physiology of environmental toxins.

Breakfast: Koni Spinach Fruit Smoothie. 1 cup of strawberries, 1 orange, 1 cup of brocolli, 1 lemon juiced, 1 cup of rice/almond/soy milk, 3 handfuls of fresh spinach, 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar, 1 inch of peeled ginger, 2 cups of cold Koni Slim it Sencha Green Tea, 2 tablespoons honey if desired. Place all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth!

  • Spinach is another dark leafy vegetable that is rich in iron, vitamin E and chlorophyll. The chlorophyll in spinach aids in cleansing the colon.

    Snack: Apple slices with cinnamon and almond butter. Enjoy with 2 cups of water with lemon or 2 cups of KONI Kapha.

    Lunch: Quinoa with cilantro and black bean. Enjoy with Koni Slim It Sencha Green Tea.

    Ingredients:

    1/2 cup of cooked black beans
    1/2 cup cooked quinoa
    1 cup of chickpeas
    1 medium tomato chopped
    1/2 cup of corn
    chopped cilantro
    diced baby red onion
    2 tablespoons of minced garlic
    1 teaspoon cumin
    Juice of 1 lime
    sea salt and pepper to taste

    Directions:

    1. Combine all ingredients and stir well.
    2. Chill before serving.

    - Both quinoa and black beans are packed with nutrients that will help you feel satisfied and deeply nourished during your detox.Black beans and quinoa are both rich in protein, calcium and fiber. The high levels of dietary fiber they provide will help you maintain regular bowel movements as well as clearing your arteries and protecting you from heart disease. These high protein complex carbohydrates release their nutrients slowly, making this salad helpful in regulating blood sugar.

    - Red onions, garlic, cilantro and limes each provide powerful cleansing effects for your body. Onions and garlic help strip fat from your cells. Cilantro cleanses your blood and removes heavy metal accumulation. And the lime juice will clear toxic accumulation from your liver while alkalizing your system.

    Snack: Steamed broccoli sprinkled with ground ginger. A handful of a soy nut blend with almonds. Drink 2 cups of KONI Holy Detox.

    Dinner: Marinated vegetable kabobs recipe. Drink with 2 cups of Koni Kapha or Koni Throat Revival Tea. The fennel in Koni Throat Revival helps to detoxify the liver.

    Detoxifying the liver can help promote weight loss because one of the liver's main functions is to break down fats and eliminate excess fats in the bile through the small intestine. When the liver is overloaded, as can happen when we are exposed to too much toxicity in our diets, this function can be impaired. With help to do its job better, the liver becomes more efficient at breaking down fats again, and we lose excess fat.

    Before Bed: 1-2 cups of Koni Holy Detox or Koni Kapha tea with and a drop of honey and lemon.The ginger in Kapha and lemon are helpful for cleansing and purifying the digestive system.
