Geisha Secrets for Radiant Skin
Posted by Phuong on Jan 15th, 2012

In a world where beauty is paramount, antioxidants are a geisha's source for beautiful skin. Every part of her beauty routine must be in complete harmony with her whole self. Most geisha stray away from chemicals and try to use natural items from their environment. Even now, most Asian women, including myself, believe that the healing and restoration power of nature solve problems better than chemicals.

Inspired by their exotic beauty and holistic living, I created some secret beauty tips using my special blend, Koni Geisha Green. This jasmine green tea helps to slow down the effects of aging by fighting free radicals, promotes weight loss, reduces fat and cholesterol absorption, and has anti-cancer properties. This is the perfect elixir for your temple of beauty.

Got a cut, scrape, or bite, and a little leftover Geisha Green tea? Soak a cotton ball in it. The tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Try it on inflamed blemishes, sunburns, or puffy eyelids. But that's not all. Green tea has been shown to help block sun-triggered skin cancer, whether you drink it or apply it directly to the skin -- which is why you're seeing green tea in more and more sunscreens and moisturizers.

I can't mend your broken heart, but I can share a tip to reduce your inflammation - tea! Tea contains flavonoids that are known to benefit the body by releasing antioxidants that help to boost the cardiovascular system and reduce inflammation. According to Polyphenolic.org, flavonoids are actually tannins that are found in all plants. The tannins work to destroy the free radicals that contribute to swelling and other health problems.

To make a tea compress, follow these steps:

  • Cut out 4 square pieces of cheesecloth, pile them together and place 1 tsp of Geisha Green tea in the middle.
  • Bunch it together to create a little pouch and tie together with twine.
  • Repeat for the other eye.
  • Soak the tea compresses in steaming hot water for 3 minutes then remove.
  • Wrap the tea compress in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for half an hour, or until cool. Drink your cup of tea as you're waiting.
  • After 30 minutes, place the cool, moist tea bags on closed eyes. Recline and relax for ten to twenty minutes.

    Healing Body Mist

Hydrate your skin and give your complexion a radiant glow with this natural body mist. EGCG, a plant nutrient found in Geisha Green tea, has been called a cell rejuvenator. EGCG has skin cell repair qualities that help to restore collagen, the "building block" of skin. Use this refreshing blend of green tea and healing jasmine to invigorate and restore moisture to your skin.

    2. Remove the tea from the infuser and allow to cool to room temperature

    5. Store at the bottom of your refrigerator and shake well before each use.

    Sleep

A true geisha always gets her beauty sleep! When you sleep, your body goes into repair mode and fixes itself if/when it can. Have a cup of Koni Sleepy Time tea, a healing blend of chamomile and antioxidant rich rooibos, and let Mother Nature do her work.
